BEING BOTH A TRAINER AND BEHAVIOURIST...
It's important to understand that anyone can call him/herself a dog trainer or even a behaviourist. As the consumer, it helps to understand the difference and to research the professional before contacting them to work with you and your dog.
Fortunately, there are various associations, certifications and degrees to help you understand the education and training a person has.
I have not only attained a degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare, I am a registered trainer and accredited member of the following associations :-
Clinical Animal Behaviourist & Trainer ABTC
Fully Accredited and Registered Trainer with APDT (trainer no. 01298)
CAP 1, 2 AND 3
Full member of APBC
I have also volunteered for a charity and spent time in Gambia, working to promote the health and well being of street dogs.
